Pete Lomas - Chairman

Pete Lomas

Member of the Yorkshire Rose Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club

Hi, my name is Pete Lomas. I've been a T.O.M.C.C member since 1997. For the last 5 years I've been happy to be the Chairman of the branch of which we have a core of active members/affiliated members. At the begining of 2006, I decided it was time to stand down and allow a fresh approach to the job.
My back ground is that I've been a Triumph owner since 1961 when at the age of 18 I bought my first Triumph bike, a 1956 Speed Twin and I'm proud to say that I still have it in good condition and was riding it until
September 2002 when I purchased my second bike a 1976 Bonneville that I now ride daily. I have completed 4 National Rallies on the Speed Twin, last year I completed it on the Bonne & hope to complete it again this year. As Chairman I would like to thank the other members of the committee for their contribution to the smooth running of the branch

(Editors note; As well as being our leader and guru, I'm sure the other members will agree that he is also a great inspiration to each and every one of us)

Richard Davies

Branch Secretary of the Yorkshire Rose Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club

After a spell living on the Isle of Man, long standing member Richard Davies has returned to the Mother Country and resumed his role as an active Yorkshire Rose member and was the ideal candidate to take the Seretaries post following John Wraggs departure to the US of States and Animals caretakership.

For the record, as you can see from the photograph, Richard rides a black leather sofa.

Dennis Dawson

Treasurer of the Yorkshire Rose Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club

Dennis is 65 years young and bought his first Triumph, a brand new 21 when he had completed his National Service in 1961, a model he has more or less been true to all his motor cycling life. After the 21, he bought a Thunderbird. on which he toured Europe. He became a member of the now defunct Sheffield Branch of The T.O.M.C.C. From 1961-63 and later joined the newly formed (1982) Yorkshire Rose branch in 1988 ( with another 21) of which he has been a member ever since, holding various positions such as Scribe, Chairman and now Treasurer. He has completed 12 National Rallies, usually winning the combined age (of bike and rider) section of the rally but he has also won the rally outright. He has also completed 4 Scottish and 4 Welsh rallies as well as winning the National Landmark Challenge. He owns and runs 2 unit T100's and 2 unit 21's.

Mick Glover

Chairman of the Yorkshire Rose Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club

I came back into motorcycling in 1993 when I bought a beat up 1972 Triumph T100R Daytona, that had been repatriated from the States, to give me something to do when I retired. Over the next two and a half years I tried to bring it back to as near as standard as possible, this is when I found out how none standard it was. Getting fed up with not having a bike to ride I bought a 1965 Bonnie in 1994. I have competed in the National Rally on both bikes. The Bonnie has now been sold and has been replaced with a Hinckley Thunderbird.

I joined the Yorkshire Rose branch of the TOMCC in 1994 and from 2002 to 2006 held the post of branch “scribe” and also initiated and helped in setting up our web site. I now hold the post of Branch Chairman.

By Michael Glover (age sixty six and one third, NOT sixty seven and three quarters as previously stated)

Barry Craven (Barry the banned). Barry is the ex-scribe for the branch and owns a "father and son" pair of bikes, a Hinckley Tiger and a Meriden Tiger Cub T20HS

Animal

(aka Capt. Morgans Cabinboy)

Cultural Ambassador of the Yorkshire Rose Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club

Every branch should have a deranged Trident owner, and here's ours. Animal, or John as his mother calls him, has been a member since buying his beloved T150V in 1997. He rides it in a manner he describes as 'brisk' and has undertaken several tasks over the years including a two year stretch as runs sec, maintaining the club website, developing links with TOMCC in New Zealand and a 12 month spell as Branch Sec. He has also been the undisputed branch rum drinking champion for more years than he cares to remember. (assuming, that is, that he can remember) Rumour has it that he has earned the right to call Capt. Morgan 'Henry'
