YORKSHIRE ROSE NEWSLETTER – MARCH 2011

Hello again, for better or worse I'm back again. After a year of seeing no Yorkshire Rose reports in the Nacelle I decided that if the branch membership agreed I would give it another go. With it being the branch AGM last night it was agreed I should become the "scribe" once more.

First of all I would like to offer sincere congratulations to Dennis and his new wife Anne, yes it was a surprise to all of us!

Now, onto the AGM, where thankfully, with just a little bullying, a full committee was elected this time around.

The committee consists of:-

Chairman - Tim Grindle

Treasurer - Dennis Dawson

Secretary - Steve Gill

Events - Tim Grindle

Scribe - Mick Glover

The post of runs organiser was not filled because of the ambiguity over the ruling in some local police authorities of taking action against all motorcyclists riding in groups, or innocent riders who happened to be in the area at the time, of any incident that happened. So it was decided to "suck it and see" for the time being on this position.

In the prize giving, the Clubman of the year trophy was awarded to Gary Richardson

The Betty Grindle Memorial Rose Bowl - Jane Summersall

The Tricliff Trophy to retiring member - Ralph Boreham

Breakdown Trophy - Mark Whitehouse (the one no-one wants)

Our version of the Landmark Challenge (Windmills-set by "yours truly") was won by Richard Davies with runner up, Tim Grindle.

Congratulations to all recipients - well done. The evening ended with sandwiches and nibbles and discussions all round, with the consensus being, that it was a successful AGM.

I'll close now and hope to see you all at the 2011 TOMCC National Rally in Norfolk. Bye for now and safe riding.

GLOVEBOX.
