YORKSHIRE ROSE NEWSLETTER – September 2011

First thing to do in this report is to congratulate Dennis and Steve for completing this year's National Rally and being awarded Platinum trophies. Steve was on his Hinckley Bonneville and Dennis on his trusty old 21. I would like to just remind people not to look for Dennis on his Bonneville for the spritely 'young' gentleman has traded it in for a new Street Triple, the mind boggles!

Bob, Avon and John have managed to complete their John O' Groats to Lands End run in aid of Help the Heroes but I haven't received their report (from a 3rd party ) yet but I will write a fuller report when I receive it.

Three of our members Nichola, Pete and Mark had an evening run out to the Stafford Concours night, no prizes were taken by the bikes but 2 of the 5 raffle prizes on offer were bagged by our three stalwarts. Who was the lucky so and so who won the £20 second prize?

A contingent of our members and friends have just returned from Anglesey where we had a great weekend attending the TR3OC's Beezumph 20 track day and rally. Luckily we had reasonably good weather although a little windy but not to the strength of last year, when everything was blown away. Altogether, the rally consisted of a very fine crowd of people with some beautiful mechanical marvels, giving a good show of their performance, on a very nice compact racetrack. Even some of our members dared to take to the track and show off their skills, or trepidation, including Paul on his beautifully prepared Rob North type Trident and even Peter from Bridlington (TOMCC Treasurer and YR member) on his 'award winning' Trident. I think for most people the highlight of the meeting was the appearance on Saturday of John Young's latest acquisition his ex-Triumph Racing Daytona 8, the last of the 'tallboy's'. What more can you say about this machine, than that it looked, performed (max revs limited to 4000) and sounded (136 decibels!), MAGNIFICENT. Let's hope that the listing of 'the last Beezumph' doesn't turn out to be true, for that would be the death knell of the finest meet on the calendar. Well done to all that put on this very fine show. Congratulations to all and very well done.(see Photo Below)

Until the next time, make the best of what's left of summer.
