| First of all I will start off by announcing two charity runs being undertaken by two groups of our branch members. The first run is being made by Richard and Nicola who are both taking part in the TR3OC moped run on a NVT Easy Rider from John O' Groats to Land's End. The second group are Bob, Avon and John who are doing the opposite run on their Hinckleys from Land's End to John O'Groats. Both groups are riding in aid of the HELP FOR HEROES charity and donations will be greatly welcomed by both of the groups. The branch has also donated £25 each to both groups. All are welcome to a camping weekend to be held on the weekend of 18-19th June which will be held at the High Laning campsite at Dent. Anyone interested in going please get in touch with Nicola so the appropriate number of pitches can be booked. The Hardnott's and Rhinos pass, the Ribble Head viaduct and the Tann Hill pub (for Sunday dinner?) are all within easy reach. After my article in the last issue of Nacelle of my holidays in the Kelling Heath area of Norfolk back in August 1958 (yes I am that old) I would like to offer my greatest thanks to John and Sue of the Norfolk branch who within 24 hours of receiving their Nacelle, (2 days before I received mine) had located Pete Woodyard and over the next few days had arranged contact between myself and Pete. During the ensuing telephone calls a few discrepancies arose in my report, the pub I mentioned was not the Fakenham Arms but the Windham Arms and also after talking with Pete it was most likely the Station pub that we frequented not the Windham (in those days I think the Windham was a bit too "posh" for us "biker boys"). Saturday morning was an eye-opener when I open my e-mails, when I saw photos that I can't remember ever being taken. Hopefully I'll be able to download one and send along with my report to see if it is good enough to print, 53 year old photos don't travel through time very well. The photo (see below) shows a very young and skinny Glovebox stood behind a recumbent Dave Ashling on his 1954 Triumph T110. Pete told me that he has also lost touch with Dave as Dave had gone onto submarines and himself onto an aircraft carrier. So the story goes on, is there anyone out there who knows this man? Enjoy your riding now the days are getting longer.
