YORKSHIRE ROSE NEWSLETTER – December 2011

The first thing to mention in the report this month is the branch AGM which is to be held at 8-00pm on the 18th JANUARY 2012 at the Carbrook Hall pub on Attercliffe Rd. Sheffield. Sandwiches will be laid on for all attending, so come along and vote in a new committee and air your views. Also all trophies won last year should be returned on the 4th JANUARY at the latest, so they can be inscribed for the new winners to be presented at the AGM. Committee posts, at this moment in time, which are up for grabs are for Chairman and also for the Scribes position.

Four of our members made the trip down to Meriden for the special meeting arranged to discuss and give suggestions to where the club is going in the future. From reports by the members who went, we gather that it went well and good progress was made. Reports also made saying the food supplied was excellent and to convey a big thank you from the recipients.

At our last meeting there was a big discussion about a suggestion that we should hold a rally which would mark our 30th Anniversary but after a big debate it was more or less decided that all the work would land on the shoulders of the hard core of older members and there wouldn't be enough other members to run such an undertaking, so this has been put on the backburner for the time being and we would run the celebrations in conjunction with our Concours night.

On a lighter note Tim is organising a bowling night, if anyone is interested please get in touch with him (Click here to contact), that is, if he hasn't organised it before the publishing date of the Nacelle!

On the PR front Dennis and Fred managed to get a photo of them selves in the Classic Bike Guide, I think at the Northern Big Breakfast bike meet, also a mention for member Mac who won first prize for his 1970 Bonneville at the Boundary Academy Bike Show. Well done!

That's all folks, ride carefully now the dark nights are here!
