YORKSHIRE ROSE NEWSLETTER – MARCH 2006

Another month gone by & the weathers still s**te!! We've suffered a really cold spell in Yorkshire along with rain, hail & snow. However a contingency of hardy fellows had a run to Team Roberts for the launch of the Daytona 675 - can't remember what I was doing, must have been hung over!! By the rime you read this there will have been another run to TR this time for the Street Scrambler & the Egg Run. The Egg Run is charity event jointly organised by Sheffield Police & Three Shires Honda with all proceeds going to the Childrens Hospital in Sheff. Older bikes usually suffer due to the run being through the centre of the city (clutches) but the looks on the kids faces when a hundred plus bikes go past does make it well worth while!!

Some of us have been accused of being wimps…….why you may ask? The Big Breakfast is the answer. We are having a run over there on the Sat & staying overnight in a B&B. Plenty of beer followed by a stinking hot curry then a reasonably early run into Prees for a big brekkie to soak up afformentioned beer - should only take 15mins from where we're staying. 5 definates up to now myself & Easy, Stig, Mystery Collector & The Fiery One. It's a bloody good excuse for a p**s up sorry, a mature, sensible night out - NOT. We should hopefully have a decent turnout from the Carbrook on the Sunday so plenty of bikes on the return leg. Dennis's bike has made the journey overseas for the Route 66 challenge, he straps his wings on shortly to join it. Good luck & watch out for those Roadhouses!!!

Mystery Collector is at it again……..he's now looking at a very cheap Hinkley Trident. Sounds like a bit of a rat bike but it could be the steal of the century & knowing him, it probably will be. He assures me that he'll be selling the Trophy but I'll believe that when it happens. Talking of which he has it running well now - I've to pass on thanks to Martin for the advice!

Planned for April 23rd is a North Lincs run departing from the Carbrook at 10am.

I have details of the Thundersprint on Sunday 7th May & it looks good. Last year Easy & myself went over there but arrived a little late so missed the road run. There is talk of us going on the Sat this year & camping so another good idea I think. It clashes with the Northern Meet at Hartington but personally speaking, I find this becoming a bit of a non-event. The first year I went there were bikes parked everywhere but 2 yrs ago, just a handful. It's a shame cos there's some brill roads around there but maybe its getting a little 'stale' - dunno.

Stig has added another bike to his stable & brought it round to show me - I nearly tripped over the damn thing!! Why?? It's a H*nda Chalet monkey bike which proceeded to dribble petrol over my drive - good job I don't smoke eh??!! He manages to pull impressive wheelies on it though - this is due to the power to weight ratio with the emphasis on weight here I think!!

I've decided that I won't be taking the Nourish on the track at the Beezumph this year. Why? Not only is it not finished yet but I don't want to rush it at this stage when I do finally manage some time on her. I've still got to service the t150 yet - I know, I've been on about that all year

Keep your eye on our website cos spring is in the air - apparently!!!
