| Another month but some superb weather for a change!!! The highlight of our month was without doubt our Concours Night. I believe I can say it was an extremely successful evening!! Due to the 'iffy' weather it was a bit slow to get going but eventually, nearly 100 bikes turned up. PeterfromBrid won the long distance award, that warrants a free burger at our BBQ or the Beezumph! We ran out of raffle tickets at one point but thankfully, normal service was soon resumed (Robin brought some more tickets but we'd sorted it by then - cheers mate). A BIG thankyou goes to 2 of our sponsors for turning up, Rob Reaney of Dronfield & Norman (to his friends) Hyde. Norman was as ever 'collared' by numerous folk & happily chatted the night away. Thanks also goes to Tony Dawson (the manufacturer if Astralite wheels) who agreed to judge the Concours & a fine job he did of it too. A big thankyou to the gals - Fiery One & Emily, Easy, Anne & Rebecca - did a brilliant job 'coercing' people to part with their cash & helping with the raffle. Big thanks also to all members who donated a raffle prize, for lending a hand & to Keith for arranging the prizes. See web site for pics of winners. I must apologise for not mentioning Steve Pawson who did the Route66. It was he who ran around in assisting Dennis when his bike broke down & without that, Dennis would have been left in the sh#te!! Whilst on the subject of Dennis he has, yet again, completed the Nat Rally along with John Simpkin who did 275 miles - well done. Only 2 bikes attended Sheffield Steam rally but this was mainly due to the fact that 5 of us (+ 3 from TRO3) went to Whitby for the weekend. We stayed in a great B&B & had a good night out although I let the side down by falling asleep in the pub - how I'll ever live that down I don't know!! I did however notice that Mystery Collector developed an unnerving inclination to visit the ladies toilet, hmmm. MC & I went to Coalville for Derby branch's Concours. We decided to camp on the Sat night & were allowed to do so in the beer garden. Very handy cos God only knows how we managed to get into our tents that night as we were both sh#t faced!! They had a brilliant rock band playing & luckily I persuaded MC NOT to take his bike into the pub during a Meatloaf number! Barry & Rob (from Donny) also came on the Sunday so a good turnout from the branch. Thanks go to the Derby branch for the invite, it was good to meet up with you. Perhaps you will join us at our BBQ? The same weekend Animal persuaded ASG to accompany him (on pillion) in visiting PeterfromBrid (she must have been on the 'brave pills' the week prior!!). Copious amounts of rum were taken over the weekend & they had a great time. Masham - 7 plus kids attended & the weather was superb!! A really good show, BBQ's at night & unable to find a bad pint all weekend. Bo Peep had a long drive up on Sunday morning to show her Tiger Cub & spent most of the day attempting to shelter from the sun! Animal was unfortunate in not being able to make it as his oil filter bung cracked although this is now sorted. Keith has arranged some runs so see Nacelle or our web site for details. Plenty of events coming up with 5 of us (+2, TRO3 members) going to the Manx at the end of Aug. If you're going, look out for us & we'll have a pint or 3. Annual BBQ. We are holding this on Aug 12/13/14th. This is a friends & family do although any members will be made more than welcome. Anyone wishing to go then look on our website & email Rubbermick & I will send directions. Just bring something to burn on the BBQ & plenty of beer!!! Oh, a tent would be usefull too………. Reckon I've rambled on enough for this month so lets hope the sun keeps shining!! Ttfn Rubbermick
