YORKSHIRE ROSE NEWSLETTER – JANUARY 2006

Not a lot to report this month not helped by the fact that I missed the last club night tsk, tsk. Discussed potential runs & how we can get more members to join in. Historically we have struggled to get the right balance with some of our 'faster' Meriden & Hinkley owners finding it a little 'tiring' when we have smaller capacity m/c's present. I presume other branches have similar problems? Keith is working tirelessly in suggesting runs & I'm sure once the weather improves, the less hardy amongst us will no doubt support him. The Big Breakfast Run has created a lot of interest so if the weathers ok, we should get a good turn out. It will be an early start & it'll probably be cold. Last year my fingers went numb before we reached Stoke on Trent!!

Tim & Glovebox decided they fancied some fish 'n' chips & so went to Brid for them! Can't have a decent chippy close by that's all I can say!!

What news then? We have another couple joining us for the Manx although I have to admit they're not yet TOMCC members! They can be forgiven though cos they're in the TR3OC - as are some of us. On the 25th March we have a run to Team Roberts planned for the launch of the new street scrambler - see website for meeting time. Our Mystery Collector has finally succumbed & added a 900 Trophy to his stable. He assures us its purely for practical reasons (to & from work) but time will tell. I'm sure once he's reminded how well a REAL Triple sounds, he'll revert back!! Mind you, if he doesn't sort out a rather disconcerting rattle he may wish he'd not bought it in the first place!!?? Fiery one has suffered a stroke of bad luck with her 500 due to it springing a rather bad leak from the base of the barrels. Some kind soul lent her the appropriate helicoil kit so this will soon be rectified. Animal is finally getting his head sorted (some may say he's been needing it for years!!). Seriously, his exhaust stubs on the Mighty One are all loose to such an extent they fall out!! Be nice to have you up & running again mate. He's also had his back brake plate bushed & a set of new shoe's to go with it, not bad after 250K miles. Yes, really!!!!!! Dennis is doing the Route 66 in good ole US of A - hope your bike doesn't get see sick!! Nah, best of luck & I'm envious. He may have another member joining him, so should be the trip of a lifetime. I've been using the T150 for work quite a lot lately. Luckily we haven't suffered with the weather but she's desperate for a service now. The Nourish project has had to be put on the back burner for a while due to other priorities. It will be running this year but when? dunno…….

Reckon that's about it for now. Don't forget to keep an eye on our website.
