| Many events this month. First off was Pickering Steam Rally which, after an iffy start due to the weather, turned out excellent! On the Thursday night we enjoyed a curry (on the BBQ) which promptly saw some reaching for cooling beverages! One unfortunate occurrence during this was my flat tyre - yes Glovebox, you were right for once, I did need a new back tyre. I managed to source a suitable replacement from a S**uki dealer in York & so managed to ride home after. Some of us had a trip to the Rufforth autojumble & picked up some good buys. This weekend also happened to clash with the Cromford Steam Show. We had members attending both & all reported excellent shows. On the runs side of things that Keith had arranged these have been well attended. Keith, Stig, Glovebox & MC went to North Leverton & promptly drooled over a Rob North Triple - well who wouldn't!! Animal had a trundle to the TRO3 meet in Lincoln & had to be dragged kicking & screaming away from another VERY special triple. Both these are rumoured to be at the Beezumph in Sept so we'll be seeing them there. A contingent went to the BMPS Concours at Thorpe Hesley with the guest speaker being Mick Grant. Annual BBQ. This was held on the 13th. The weather could have been better as it was very windy & it pi**ed it down late on, this however failed to dampen our spirits. PeterfromBrid & family attended as did Ian, Jane & Evie (TRO3 members but we'll let 'em off - they are going to join!!). Ian assisted with the BBQ (cheers mate) & so we finished burning stuff reasonably early & proceeded to get very, VERY drunk. I blame Mystery Collector for my downfall (& Ian's to some degree) as he brought me a bottle of JD. Animal proceeded to consume copious quantities of rum (whats new) & was last seen wobbling into his tent held up by ASG. At some point during the evening some of us (anonymous) decided we would 'liberate' a blue toilet from the side of the motorway. After ensuring that it wasn't full we managed to move it a fair distance before a snooping camera locked onto us. With no more to do we mingled into the wooded banking so - nothing to do with me yer honour!! I can hold my head up & say that I was the last man standing 'on the night' that is until I fell over - again. Unfortunately, I am completely unable to recall this but the bruises told there own story. On the 20th Aug 6 bikes (Hinkleys) went on a Lincolnshire run. Around 150 miles covered, many on wet roads but the rain missed 'em - well done!! Glovebox nearly had a run in with a 'boy racer' but escaped unscathed. I must welcome 3 new members on this run - Mad Dog Tony, Richard & Bob, nice to have you with us. As I write we are preparing for the Manx GP - 9 of us. The weekend after our return will see us at Beezumph15 which will no doubt be another excellent event. Come on TOMCC, lets have something similar!!!!!! I shall no doubt have a few tales to tell upon our return so until then have fun, ride safe - we will!! Ttfn Rubbermick
