YORKSHIRE ROSE NEWSLETTER – APRIL 2006

Lots of interesting little occurrences to report this month. First off, Mystery Collector set fire to his garage when he was grinding. Well, nearly! Lucky for him he's got a sense of smell & threw out the offending sheet before his collection went the way of the National Motorcycle Museum!!!

Claire had her 18th birthday bash - many happy ones (legal drinking at last). It was a great do with Animal & myself doing a fine rendition of a couple of Alex Harvey numbers. We really got the joint rockin' I can tell ya although I think it was with laughter! John & Sue were there also & he must have been really drunk as he insisted on buying us a drink on more than one occasion!! They are moving 'over the pond' for work reasons & he is unfortunately already developing a serious case of adenoids!!!!! He assures us though that he will not join the Hog fraternity, time will tell but good luck & keep in touch.

7 of us had a w/end away for the Big Breakfast. 3 riders with pillions on Meridens finest triples & Stig on a Hinckley Leg-end who rode tail end Charlie savouring the wonderfull sound!!! The weather wasn't good (note, understatement here) & we took a very scenic route over there staying in a B&B on the Sat night. That evening found us out on the town for more than a few beers & a steaming curry. Mystery Collector not only found a pub full of Bunny Girls but also the hottest chilli 'on the night'!!! Plenty of bikes at the Big B but the as weather was worsening, we headed back around lunch time. Our TRO3 companions had a few hiccups with the bike dying on more than one occasion - plugs fouling & smoking like a gud 'un! Mystery Collector bottomed the forks out under heavy braking near home & limped back with them firmly stuck down - these are now sorted. Oh, I finally managed to service my T150 before we went (round of applause please). She was also thoroughly cleaned & polished although you wouldn't have ever believed that she'd seen any Solvol by the time we got back!

Route 66 news - it appears our intrepid explorer has now run out of tappet covers & anyone wishing to do this run merely has to follow the trail of oil! He's also had to source a new rear wheel after 12 off his spokes collapsed under the strain. Wherever you had your wheel built mate I'd take those spokes & stuff 'em where the sun don't shine!!! He is now (or was last we heard) back on track.

Breaking news!!! - Animal & his head. I know, I know, some may say he's been needing this looking at for long enough. Not I mate, not I. He has finally managed to get his ar#e in gear & shipped it off to SRM for a head stub thread re-furb. The bad news is that his valve train is also shot so he is taking their advice & having the lot done. I am maybe speaking out of turn here but I believe he's been grovelling to his bank manager to fund this. Sorry mate, what was that?? ASG wasn't aware oops. Hope your Bupa's up to date!!!

Enough of my ramblings.

Lots of runs coming up & these are, as ever, on our website. Also discussed the Post TT at Mallory.

Ah, before I forget…..I now have a complete rolling chassis for the Nourish. She's sitting a bit too high at the moment but shorter shocks will sort this.

Thanks for that one Mick!!

Fortunately, my BUPA was paid up to date, and as the Chatsworth Suite at Chesterfield Royal Hospital has internet access for its paid up members, I was still able to update your webpage!!
